Nur Diyanah Afendy
is a Year 2 Mass Communication student in the School of Film and Media Studies at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. A curious-minded young girl, Diyanah is always looking forward to the many adventures life has to offer and is ever ready to seize any opportunities that come her way. This bubbly, jovial, ball of energy easily adapts to different situations and believes strongly in her life motto, "Simple in Virtue; Steadfast in Duty".
This motto is something Diyanah holds very dear to her heart. To be "Simple in Virtue" just means being open and honest with others, so that we can live in unity. This simplicity calls for an acknowledgement of our own faults and effort to overcome selfishness.
To be "Steadfast in Duty" means to have an awareness of our duty to be of service to others. Only when one puts self and petty interests aside can this steadfastness in duty be fully attained.
With this understanding of the motto and Diyanah's willingness to learn, she will work to her fullest potential with every chance presented to her.
Diyanah is a passionate dancer, she competed in her first dance competition at the age of 11 and is currently an active member of Ngee Ann's prestigious hiphop club, New Revolving Age. She loves listening to music and has no favourite genre.
I'm no plain Jane. I make the weirdest of laughters and my face can scrunch into the most hilarious expressions - just to see the people around me smile. Just like every other individual gritting through this journey called Life, I face my own set of struggles and setbacks. However, that won't stop me from dreaming and doing the best I can to attain the happiness I deserve. At times when I feel like giving up, I'm reminded of those assholes I want to prove wrong and quickly get my shit together.
A companion one would love to have, and a foe you wish you'd never meet.
